We congratulate the people of Burma on their participation in the electoral process, and Aung San Suu Kyi and the National League for Democracy on their strong showing in the polls. This election is an important step in Burma’s democratic transformation, and we hope it is an indication that the Government of Burma intends to continue along the path of greater openness, transparency, and reform.
ကြ်န္ေတာ္တို႕ဟာ ျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံရဲ႕ ေရြးေကာက္ပြဲ တစ္ေလွ်ာက္လံုးမွာ ပါ၀င္ဆင္ႏႊဲခဲ့ၾကတဲ့ ျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံသား အားလံုးကို ဂုဏ္ယူမိပါတယ္။ ဒါ့အျပင္ ေဒၚေအာင္ဆန္းစုၾကည္ ႏွင့္ အမ်ိဳးသား ဒီမိုကေရစီအဖြဲ႕ခ်ဳပ္ကိုလည္း သူတို႕ရဲ႕ အင္အားျပသႏုိင္ခဲ့တဲ့အတြက္ ဂုဏ္ယူမိပါသည္။ ဒီေရြးေကာက္ပြဲဟာ ျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံ ဒီမိုကေရစီစနစ္ ကူးေျပာင္းမႈ႕အတြက္ အေရးပါတဲ့ အဆင့္တစ္ခုျဖစ္ျပီးေတာ့ ဒီေရြးေကာက္ပြဲဟာ ျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံေတာ္ အစိုးရအေနႏွင့္လည္း ပိုမိုျပီးေတာ့ ၾကီးမားတဲ့ တံခါးဖြင့္မႈ႕ေတြ၊ ပြင့္လင္းျမင္သာမႈ႕ေတြ ႏွင့္ ေျပာင္းလဲမႈ႕ လမ္းေၾကာင္းေတြအတြက္ ေဖာ္ညႊန္းမႈ႕ တစ္ခုျဖစ္တယ္လို႕ ကြ်န္ေတာ္တို႕ ေမွ်ာ္လင့္မိပါသည္။
